Building Bright Futures, Together: Child Protection in Kalobeyei

By SCA Field OperationsChild Protection & Advocacy

Building bright futures starts with the unwavering belief that safety is a fundamental right, not a luxury.

Last week, Stop Child Abuse (SCA) was proud to amplify our ongoing efforts in child protection awareness across the Kalobeyei Refugee Camps, in vital collaboration with Save the Children Kenya. The smiles you see during these sessions are proof that when communities are empowered with information, protection becomes a reality.

A Collaborative Approach to Safety This partnership allows us to reach more families and children with critical information on their rights, practical steps for reporting abuse, and strategies for creating safer environments free from exploitation. Our approach includes:

  • Community Workshops: Hosting face-to-face dialogues where parents and children can discuss their safety concerns openly.
  • Interactive Learning: Using participatory methods to ensure that every child understands they have a voice and a fundamental right to safety.
  • Refugee-Led Advocacy: Leveraging our deep, local knowledge alongside the expertise of partners like Save the Children to ensure that no child is left behind.

We believe that protection is a collective mission. Thank you to Save the Children Kenya for joining us in this crucial endeavor. Together, we are building a safer tomorrow, one community at a time.
