🏆 Launching the Stop Child Abuse (SCA) Tournament for Peace & Unity! 🌍✌️
We are thrilled to announce the launch of the Stop Child Abuse (SCA) Tournament a transformative initiative using the power of sports to foster peace, unity, and resilience among refugees in Kakuma!
Why This Tournament Matters
In Kakuma Refugee Camp, where tensions between communities can escalate due to scarce resources and cultural differences, this tournament serves as a bridge for reconciliation. By bringing together youth from diverse backgrounds South Sudanese, Congolese, Somali, and more we create a safe space to:
- Promote peaceful coexistence through teamwork and fair play.
- Break down stereotypes by uniting players as teammates, not rivals.
- Empower young leaders to advocate for non-violence in their communities.
How It Works
- Sports for Change: Football and volleyball matches will be paired with peacebuilding workshops, where players discuss conflict resolution and child protection.
- Community Engagement: Local leaders, elders, and artists will join to celebrate cultural diversity through music, dance, and storytelling.
- Long-Term Impact: Winning teams will receive mentorship to lead community peace initiatives, ensuring the tournament’s spirit lives on.
